September to December 2026: Agne Kisonaite, *1983, Lithuania
"In the project “Winged Motion” I explore the theme In Motion through the metaphor of birds – as living beings and symbols of freedom, migration, and transformation. Movement, for me, is a transition of states, spaces, and identities. During my residency at Villa Sonnenberg, I will create a kinetic installation that responds to wind, using locally found or repurposed materials such as branches, straw, metal, plastic, or e-waste. These objects, once useful, carry their own history of “movement” and will be transformed into new artistic forms. To enrich intercultural dialogue, I will integrate the Lithuanian craft of straw garden weaving, part of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage. These fragile geometric structures embody harmony and cyclicity. Suspended bird forms will emerge, gently moving with the air to create a meditative, ever-changing composition."
